Elizabeth Mitchell's "Sunny Day" CD - Magical Childhood!

Sunny Day, Elizabeth Mitchell's new children's CD, is from start to finish a beautiful project.  The music held within is magical, innocent, gentle, and above all, inspires a love of life, family, and childhood itself.  The simple elegance of the acoustical guitar, fiddle, and lovely voices of Elizabeth and her family serve up a wonderful selection of folk music.

Sunny Day is indeed a perfect title.  One can't help but think of those rare sunny days when you have nothing better to do than enjoy the grass and fields, the blue skies, and each other.  We at Laughing Owl have listened to this one endlessly, without tiring.  Let's face it - for most of us, our lives are hectic crammed with more than we'd choose to do, and those peaceful family moments may not come often enough for us.  But with a CD like Sunny Day nearby, you'll not only have the perfect background music to these moments, you may even be encouraged to make time for more.

Swimming in Noodles Music CD - Serious Fun!

Looking for some up-tempo kids' music that'll get everyone on their feet?  Swimming in Noodles by Jim Cosgrove offers just such grooves, enjoyable for kids of all ages (even their parents - our musical goal here at Laughing Owl).  Musical styles include Zydeco, Rock 'n Roll, even Island music complete with steel drums.

We like this CD for its element of fun and happiness, and for songs like "Just Like You" and "Be My Friend" that make kids think about and engage in the meaning of the lyrics. And of course it's nice that "Hang on Mama" allows kids to find a way to relate to their poor mothers, drowning in laundry.  (Yes, we do appreciate being rescued from all those gym socks.)
